Permanent resident status will be granted to the foreigner who meet one of the following cases:
I. For reasons of political asylum, refugee or protection status and protection.
II. For the right to the preservation of the family unit.
III. Retirees or pensioners who receive from a foreign government or companies for services provided abroad, an income that allow to live in the country.
IV. By decision of the Institute.
V. If 4 years have elapsed since the foreigner has a permit for temporary residence.
VI. For having children of Mexican nationality by birth.
VII. For being ascendant or descendant in a straight line up to the second degree of a Mexican by birth.
Foreigners who are granted the status of permanent residents will have the possibility of obtaining a permit to work in exchange for remuneration in the country subject to an offer of employment, and with the right to enter and leave the national territory as many times as they wish.
Likewise, permanent residents may enter their personal property, in the form and terms that determine the applicable legislation.
